Grand Champion
The title of Grand Champion was implemented from 1 January 1998. During the period 1 January 1998 to 31 December 2011, to achieve this title the owner of a dog was required to achieve 1000 points and 4 Best in Groups or 4 x 25 point Best of Breed awards.
From 1 January 2012, the requirement was changed and to achieve this title the owner of a dog need only be awarded 1000 challenge points under the rules of Dogs Australia.
Supreme Champion
The highest confirmation title in Australia is a Supreme Champion. All dogs who are recorded as Supreme Champions have already achieved the Grand Champion title, and then meet the ultimate level criteria. The title of Supreme Champion was implemented from 1 July 2012. To achieve this title the owner of a dog must be awarded 1000 challenge points (Grand Champion requirement), and then three All Breeds Best in Shows; or ten Best in Group/Multi-Breed or Specialty Best In Show. This must also include either three different Best In Show Judges or ten different Best in Group /Specialty Judges. There can be no repeated Judges.
**Footnote: When this title was introduced Dogs that had achieved a Grand Champion title were still required to return to the ring and win one more challenge (after 1 July 2012) to be eligible to apply for the Supreme Champion title.
